Born in Germany, Jutta Neumann (pronounced yoota noyman) began designing and hand building leather goods after moving to New York from Paris in the mid-1980s. After spending more than six years assisting a venerated New York leather artisan, Neumann opened her own studio and storefront in the East Village in New York City in 1994.

 Since then, her work designing and handcrafting sandals, handbags and shoulder bags, wristbands, belts, and accessories has been well received by designers and the general public alike. Neumann's work is featured regularly in national and international fashion magazines, including Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire and Mademoiselle.

 We have news for our customers who can visit our store: As you know the Allen Street store is closed. We are now working from our new tiny store inside our studio and it opened it's doors on December 11th 2009. The opening party was beautiful and successful. We hope that everyone who could not attempt will have a chance at our next event. The wish list is started and you can participate throughout the year. It so happened that I was too busy so I forgot to take photos at the party! I promise next time I will. Soon we will show photos from our new place.
